This behemoth is my niece. She does not seem to like thunder and has required that I hold her the entire time we wait on my sister to get back from work. For size reference, I am NOT a small person. Duse is just one he’ll of a big dog. Her head really is on my chest, and she really is that big.

This is what is known as a fishtail braid. A fish tail is executed using only two strands of hair. It can be as neat or as messy as you like, and is a great way to build dexterity in your fingers.

A pretty good tutorial video for braiding. This style has many names. You may hear it called a dutch braid, an inside-out french braid, a cornrow, or even some interesting slang terms. I kid you not, a popular term where I am from is “doo doo knots” or “dookie braids”.
Cornrows are done the same way, just on a much smaller scale.
This look creates a solid stream of braid on the outside of the hair. It makes great crowns and buns as well.
This is actually not that difficult to do. You will have to combine a french braid and a dutch braid technique. Chances are… you will also not be able to do this to yourself.
I do really like the look though.
